The fear of not being there in a crisis weighed heavily on us, leading to feelings of anger, depression, and hopelessness. We knew better care was possible, but we were fighting separate battles.

Then came the internet and social media, and everything changed. We found each other. We realized that we were not alone—and that together, our voices could make a difference. What started as a grassroots movement of patients and loved ones—selling cupcakes, knocking on government doors—grew into Adrenal Insufficiency United (AIU).

At AIU, we believe that every person affected by adrenal insufficiency deserves a chance to reach their full potential. Our leadership is, and always will be, comprised of individuals personally impacted by AI, ensuring we never lose sight of why this organization was founded.
