Support for Those Living with Adrenal Insufficiency

Harmony 4 Hope

Harmony 4 Hope SM is a Chicago based non-profit foundation. Our unique mission is to use repurposed technology and live music to comfort, create community and contribute to rare disease research and awareness among community youth and the general public.
On World Rare Disease Day, 2014 Harmony 4 HopeSM debuted our awareness campaign, Play This ForwardSM. We are collecting unwanted iPods® and repurposing them to heighten awareness for rare disease. This program was specifically created to comfort children who face the isolation & uncertainty that oftentimes accompanies a rare disease diagnosis. In the meantime, we are delighted that Play This ForwardSM is creating a vivacious community for this critical cause. Local businesses and schools are fortifying our mission by stepping up as donation sites for the technology.
Our team of high school volunteers restores and downloads music onto each iPod®. The Harmony 4 HopeSM device contains one set list with over 5 hours of music requested by the children we are serve. Through the power of music, we are uniting an audience for this critical cause. Our musical and heartfelt outreach has been delivered across the nation and as far as the Netherlands, proving that music is indeed a universal language.
Over a dozen rare diseases are represented through our device. We are happy that the music has been delivered to a few children in the Adrenal Insufficiency family, allowing us to educate our audience about this rare condition.
